Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:41 PM AST 5 March 2026 A cold northerly flow bringing freezing spray across northern waterswill subside tonight as a ridge of high pressure builds over the
Maritimes.
A low pressure system will slowly approach southwestern waters on
Friday passing just south of Georges Bank by evening. Winds will
increase to strong to gale force easterlies ahead of the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank and West Scotian Slope.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Banquereau - northern half, Cabot Strait - northern half,
Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti.
