Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:08 PM AST 20 January 2026 A low pressure system over Labrador will intensify as it movesnortheast to lie off of the Labrador coast late tonight then remain
generally stationary Wednesday. Gale to near storm force westerly
winds are expected over northern and eastern waters between this low
and an approaching ridge to the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, and all Gulf of St.
Lawrence waters.
Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, southwestern shore, eastern shore,
Fourchu, Banquereau - northwestern half, Cabot Strait, and all Gulf
