Issued 3:00 AM AST 16 November 2018 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Maritimes.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today departing ridge located over the eastern
Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. AST today low 999 mb located southwest of Long Island.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 985 mb located near Cape Breton

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:57 AM AST 16 November 2018 A ridge of high pressure over the Maritimes will move to lie east of
the marine district by this afternoon. In its wake a rapidly
approaching low pressure system will track along Nova Scotia today
from the southwest to the northeast.

As this low pressure system tracks through the marine district gale
to storm force southeasterlies will develop ahead and south of the
low, while strong to gale force northeasterlies will develop north of
it. Winds will then switch to strong to gale force westerlies behind
this system except over southern and eastern waters where gale to
storm force westerlies are expected.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, and Banquereau. Gale warnings are
in effect for all remaining waters except Chaleur-Miscou, and
