to the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:46 PM AST 14 January 2026 An approaching trough will move eastward across the marine districton Thursday and is expected to stall over eastern waters Thursday
evening. Strong to gale force southerlies will develop over southern
and eastern waters ahead of this feature.
These southerlies are expected to increase to gale to storm force on
Friday over East Scotian Slope, Banquereau, and Laurentian Fan as the
trough stalls and intensifies.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope,
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau,
Laurentian Fan, and Cabot Strait.
