By 8:00 p.m. AST Tuesday low 1000 mb located east of Cabot Strait.

At 8:00 p.m. AST Tuesday high located west of the Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:51 PM AST 21 January 2019 Strong to gale force westerlies will prevail over most forecast
waters in the wake of a low the Northeastern Gulf of St. Lawrence.

This low is expected to weaken slightly overnight and will move to
lie east of Cabot Strait by Tuesday evening. Strong to gale force
northerly winds just west of the low will diminish tonight.
Increasing northwesterly winds on Tuesday will reach gale force
across much of the district and storm force over the western section
of Gulf-Magdalen between the low and an area of high pressure west of
the district.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Gulf-Magdalen - western half. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Fundy, southwestern shore and Laurentian Fan.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except West
Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope, Laurentian Fan, Northumberland
Strait - western half and Chaleur - Miscou.
