Issued 3:00 AM AST 21 January 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. AST today quasi-stationary low 979 mb located over
Labrador Sea.

At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located over the East Coast of the U.S.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday ridge located south of the Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday trough located over New England.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday trough located from Newfoundland to
Georges Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:46 AM AST 21 January 2026 Strong to gale force westerly winds will continue today over northern
and eastern waters between a quasi-stationary low over the Labrador
Sea and an approaching ridge to the west.

On Tuesday, strong to possibly gale force southwest winds are
expected ahead of a trough of low pressure.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, and all Gulf of St.
Lawrence waters.

Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, southwestern shore, eastern
shore, Fourchu, Banquereau - northern half, Cabot Strait, and all
Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
