Issued 3:30 PM NST 18 December 2018 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 972 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 968 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:13 PM NST 18 December 2018 A low pressure system stalled over the Cabot Strait will begin moving
eastward and cross Southeastern Newfoundland tonight. The low will
again stall northeast of Newfoundland on Wednesday and deepen.

A swath of gale force southeasterlies to northeasterlies across most
of the district ahead of the low will diminish to moderate to strong
southerlies over most waters. Winds will reintensify to gale force
west to northwesterlies tonight into Wednesday behind the low and
further increase to storm force over the Northeast Coast late
Wednesday.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Northeast Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.
