Issued 3:00 AM NST 28 January 2021 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located over southern Labrador Coast.By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over Funk Island Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Friday approaching low 964 mb located south of
Sable Island.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line east-west over the
southern Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:46 AM NST 28 January 2021 A trough of low pressure located over the South Labrador Coast willslowly track southwards today and tonight to lie over Funk Island
Bank Friday morning. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will
develop this afternoon over northern waters as the trough
intensifies.
A low pressure system developing off Cape Hatteras will track
northeastwards today to lie south of Sable Island tonight. Gale to
storm force northeasterlies will develop Friday afternoon for extreme
southern waters as the low tracks south of the Grand Banks Friday
night.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Southern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for East Coast,
Belle Isle Bank, funk island and Northern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are further advised that a freezing spray warning is
in effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half.
