Issued 3:00 AM NST 18 December 2018 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. NST today departing ridge located over Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 979 mb located near Cape Breton Island.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday low 973 mb located near the Burin
Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:48 AM NST 18 December 2018 A low pressure system will stall over Cape Breton Island today before
moving eastward and crossing Southeastern Newfoundland tonight.
The low will stall northeast of Newfoundland on Wednesday and deepen.
A swath of gale force southeasterlies to northeasterlies will
continue to spread northward across most of the district today ahead
of the low. Winds will then diminish to moderate to strong
southerlies over most waters before increasing to gale force west to
northwesterlies tonight into Wednesday behind the low. Winds will
further increase to storm force over the Northeast Coast late
Wednesday.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Northeast Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.
