Issued 3:00 AM NST 14 December 2018 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 948 mb located southeast of Greenland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 956 mb located east of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today building ridge located over New Brunswick.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday high located south of the Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching trough located over the
Gaspe Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:45 AM NST 14 December 2018 An intense low pressure system southeast of Greenland will continue
to track northeastwards today. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure
over New Brunswick is expected to drift eastwards to lie south of the
Grand Banks by Saturday morning. Consequently, strong to gale force
west to northwesterly winds will persist over all waters between the
high pressure and the departing low today.

An approaching trough will cross Newfoundland on Saturday. Strong to
gale force west to southwesterlies ahead of the trough will veer to
strong to gale force west to northwesterlies in its wake late in the
day on Saturday.

Marine interests are advised gale warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast , Northeast Coast, Belle
Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank and the Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
