Issued 3:00 AM NST 27 February 2021 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NST today departing trough located east of FunkIsland Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located over New England.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 995 mb located over the Southwest
Coast of Newfoundland.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:52 AM NST 27 February 2021 A trough of low pressure east of Funk Island Bank will depart thismorning. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will diminish to
moderate to strong westerlies over eastern waters as the trough
departs and a ridge of high pressure approaches from the west.
A second trough of low pressure will approach the marine district
from the west and develop into a low later today. The low pressure
system will then move to lie over the Southwest Coast Sunday
afternoon. Strong to gale force southwesterlies will develop over
western waters today as the trough approaches. On Sunday, the low
will cause strong to gale force southeasterlies to spread across
southern waters before shifting to strong to gale force
northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis and Northeast
Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Grand Banks.
