Issued 8:26 PM NST 16 December 2017 Tonight and Sunday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 960 mb located 100 miles east of the
Avalon Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 955 mb located south of Greenland.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 974 mb located over Labrador Sea.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Sunday dissipating low located over southern
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:54 PM NST 16 December 2017 An intense low pressure system about 100 miles east of the Avalon
Peninsula will move to lie northeast of the marine district
overnight, and then continue northeastward on Sunday. North of the
low, gale to storm force northeasterlies will shift to gale to storm
force northwesterlies. To its south, gale to storm force southerlies
veer to storm to hurricane force west to northwesterlies. Winds will
diminish to strong to gale force west to northwesterlies by Sunday
morning.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for the South Coast, East Coast - Cape St. Francis and
south, and the Northern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Funk Island Bank and the
Southern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Strait of Belle Isle, and Gulf waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast and
Belle Isle Bank.
