By 10:00 a.m. NDT Monday low 995 mb located south of the Grand
Banks.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Monday ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:00 AM NDT 6 October 2024 A developing low pressure centre will approach the marine districtfrom the south today and intensify south of the Grand Banks. Strong
to gale force east to northeasterly winds will develop over southern
waters this afternoon as the low intensifies.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Southern Grand Banks.
At 6:30 A.M. NDT hurricane Kirk was located near 33.5 north 49.0
west. Kirk is moving north-northeast at 20 knots with maximum
sustained winds of 90 knots and a minimum central pressure of 957 MB.
At this time Kirk is not expected to have any effect on Canadian
waters.
