By 10:00 a.m. NST Monday quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Avalon Peninsula.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:55 PM NST 25 February 2024 A trough of low pressure over Belle Isle Bank will intensify this
evening. Strong to gale force westerlies near the trough will
increase to gale force southwesterlies over Belle Isle Bank as the
trough strengthens. Gales will diminish overnight as the trough
departs to the east.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warnings is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Southwest Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle
Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
