By 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 974 mb located north
of Labrador Sea.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 1010 mb located southeast
of Nova Scotia.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing low 982 mb located southeast
of the Grand Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday high located over Nova Scotia.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Thursday high located south of the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:46 AM NST 22 January 2025 An intense low pressure system will stall north of the Labrador Seafor the next couple of days and gradually weaken. Strong to gale
force westerlies will diminish today as the low weakens.
A second intensifying low will pass south of the marine district
today. Strong to gale force northerly winds are expected over
southern waters tonight as the low passes.
On Thursday a strong area of high pressure will drift south of the
marine district. Gale force westerlies will develop over northeastern
waters Thursday afternoon between the high and the stalled low north
of the Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Southwestern
Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
