east-west over the Maritimes.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough located over northern Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:51 AM NST 20 January 2020 A low pressure system located over the Funk Island Bank will move to
lie northeast of the Belle Isle Bank by this evening. Gale to storm
force east to southeasterlies ahead of the low will shift to strong
to gale force west to northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will shift
to moderate to strong westerlies as the low departs this evening.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Funk Island Bank, and the northern and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for the East Coast - Cape St Francis and
south, Northeast Coast and the Belle Isle Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south
and the Southern Grand Banks.
