Newfoundland.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located from Funk Island Bank to
Hudson Bay.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT today departing ridge located over Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:51 AM NDT 12 March 2026 A low pressure system over Eastern Quebec will cross the Gulf of St.Lawrence today and tonight before rapidly deepening as it tracks over
Newfoundland and Belle Isle Bank on Friday. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies to southeasterlies are expected north of the low
today with strong to gale force southwesterlies to its south. As the
low rapidly deepens on Friday, gale to storm force northwesterlies to
southwesterlies will develop to its south.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast,
Northeast Coast, and Belle Isle Bank.
