At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 1016 mb located over the East
Coast of the U.S.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday deepening low 1002 mb located over the
Southwest Coast of Newfoundland.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday departing ridge located east of the
Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:21 PM NST 18 December 2024 A trough of low pressure east of Newfoundland will continue to moveoffshore this evening before departing tonight. Gale force south to
southwesterlies are expected to diminish with its departure.
On Thursday a low pressure system will approach the district from the
southwest and quickly track across Southeastern Newfoundland.
Gale force south to southwesterlies are expected to the south and
east of the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
southwest cost, South Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and the
Grand Banks.
