By 3:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday trough located east of the Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Tuesday ridge located on a line north-south over
Anticosti Island.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:17 PM NDT 31 August 2026 A trough of low pressure over Eastern Newfoundland will move to lieeast of the Grand Banks tonight. Moderate to strong southwesterlies
ahead of the trough will veer to strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will diminish as the tough departs
on Tuesday and a ridge builds from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Southern Grand Banks.
