Issued 3:00 AM NDT 16 August 2018 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today low 995 mb located east of Labrador Sea.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT today departing low 990 mb located east of
Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough from 995 mb low located over the
Northeast Coast of Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Friday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the northern Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:56 AM NDT 16 August 2018 A trough over the Northeast Coast will slowly move southeastwards
throughout the period. Strong to gale force northeasterlies will
develop early this morning in its wake over western waters.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Northeast Gulf and Gulf - Port au Port.

At 12:30 AM NDT, subtropical storm Ernesto was located near
Latitude 39.7 north and longitude 45.1 west. Ernesto has maximum
sustained winds of 35 knots and is moving northward at about 9 knots
with a minimum central pressure of 1008 MB.

Ernesto is forecast to accelerate northeastward today. This track
keeps Ernesto southeast of the Grand Banks and is not expected to
have any impacts on the marine district.
