Wind east 25 knots increasing to east 35 to 45 early this evening then becoming south 40 to 50 late overnight. Wind veering to west 45 to 55 Wednesday morning.

Snow or rain becoming rain and fog banks near midnight then flurries or showers near noon Wednesday. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation and in fog banks.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 17 February 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 972 mb located south of
Laurentian Fan.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 966 mb located over the northern
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:19 PM NST 17 February 2026 A low pressure system south of Laurentian Fan will continue to deepen
as it crosses the Grand Banks through the remainder of the forecast
period. Gale to storm force southerlies to northeasterlies ahead of
the low will shift to gale to storm force westerlies to
northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island Bank and the
Southern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and Southwest Coast
- west of Ramea.
