Issued 3:30 PM NST 3 February 2023 Tonight and Saturday At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over Belle Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching low 952 mb located over
southern Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:24 PM NST 3 February 2023 A trough of low pressure approaching the marine district from thesouthwest will cross Newfoundland this evening. The trough will
continue northward across Belle Isle Bank overnight to lie north of
the marine district by Saturday morning. Gale to storm force south to
southeasterlies will spread across most waters tonight ahead of the
trough and veer to gale to storm force westerlies in its wake.
Late on Saturday, a low pressure system over the Labrador Sea will
move southward into Belle Isle Bank. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies are expected over western waters late in the period
behind the low.
Marine interests are advised that storm and freezing spray warnings
are in effect for all waters.
