By 8:00 p.m. NST Monday approaching low 999 mb located southwest
of the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:23 PM NST 17 February 2019 An intense low pressure system will remain quasi-stationary over theLabrador Sea throughout most of the forecast period. Generally strong
to gale force westerly winds are expected over all waters. On Tuesday
evening, winds over the Belle Isle Bank will strengthen to gale to
storm force as the low finally begins to drift across the South
Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except the Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northeast Gulf, Gulf-Port au Port, Southwest Coast, South
Coast, East Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank and Northern
Grand Banks.
