Issued 8:00 PM NST 21 January 2021 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 973 mb located over the southeasternGrand Banks.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Friday low 986 mb located over northern Funk
Island Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NST Friday deepening low 998 mb located south of
Nova Scotia.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Friday low 987 mb located over the southwestern
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:49 PM NST 21 January 2021 An intense low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks willmove to lie over Northern Funk Island Bank Friday evening. Gale to
storm force east to northeasterly winds ahead of the low will shift
to gale to storm force west to northwesterlies in its wake.
Winds will diminish over southern waters on Friday as the low tracks
over Funk Island Bank.
A second low will approach the district from the southwest Friday to
lie over the Southwestern Grand Banks Friday evening. Strong to gale
force southeasterly to northeasterly winds will spread across the
Southern Grand Banks Friday evening ahead of the low.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for South Coast, East
Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
