the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Monday departing low 958 mb located east of the
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:35 PM NST 24 January 2021 A low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank will move westwards to lie
over the Great Northern Peninsula tonight. The low will then track
southwestward and weaken on Monday. Gale to storm force northerlies
to northeasterlies can be expected ahead of the low with strong to
gale force westerlies to southwesterlies to its south. Winds will
diminish over most waters overnight into Monday as the low weakens.
A rapidly intensifying second low pressure system south of the Grand
Banks fan will turn northward to lie east of the Grand Banks on
Monday. Strong to gale force northerlies to northeasterlies will
develop over southern waters today as the low passes. Winds will
diminish overnight tonight in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle
Isle, Gulf waters, Funk Island Bank and Southeastern Grand Banks -
