Issued 8:00 PM NST 16 February 2026 Tonight and Tuesday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 1005 mb located east ofthe Grand Banks.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 995 mb located south of
the Maritimes.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Tuesday low 972 mb located southwest of the
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:52 PM NST 16 February 2026 A low pressure system east of the Grand Banks will continue to departthis evening. Strong to gale force northerlies will diminish this
evening as the low departs.
A second low pressure system south of the Maritimes will deepen as it
approaches the marine district from the southwest tonight and
Tuesday. Gale to storm force east to northeasterlies will develop
over southern waters ahead of the low on Tuesday.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Southwestern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for South
Coast, East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Northern Grand Banks,
and Southeastern Grand Banks.
