Issued 8:00 PM NDT 16 May 2026 Tonight and Sunday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight intensifying low 987 mb located over
western Funk Island Bank.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Sunday departing low 984 mb located east of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 10:00 a.m. NDT Sunday trough located over the St. Lawrence River.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Monday trough located over the Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:52 PM NDT 16 May 2026 A low pressure system over Western Funk Island Bank will move to lie
east of Belle Isle Bank on Sunday. Strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies in the wake of the low will diminish on Sunday as the
low departs.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank -
southeastern half, and the Grand Banks.
