By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing ridge located east of the
Marine District.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 1003 mb located over the
northeastern United States.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 972 mb located over central Quebec.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:55 AM NST 11 December 2024 A low pressure system over the Northeastern United States willrapidly deepen as it tracks northward across Quebec tonight and
Thursday to lie south of Ungava Bay by Thursday afternoon. Strong
southeasterlies will spread over most waters and veer to strong to
gale force south to southwesterlies as the low moves northward.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast, Northeast Coast,
Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
