Issued 3:00 AM NST 21 February 2020 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 979 mb located over central Labrador Sea.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday dissipating low 1000 mb located east of
Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching trough located over Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:54 AM NST 21 February 2020 A low pressure system tracking southward over the Labrador Sea will
move across northeastern sections of Belle Isle Bank this afternoon.
Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure will build from the south to lie
across southern waters later today.

Over northern waters, the strong to gale force westerlies will
increase to gale to storm force as the low approaches. Over the
remaining waters, the strong to gale force westerlies will begin to
diminish with the approaching ridge.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for East Coast - north
of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank, and Northern
Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and the southern
half of the Southern Grand Banks.
