By 10:00 a.m. NDT Monday departing low 990 mb located east of the
Marine District.
At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough located over southern Labrador Sea.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Monday departing trough located southeast of
Belle Isle Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT Monday approaching trough located over the
Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:51 PM NDT 15 March 2026 A low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will move away fromthe region tonight. Gale to storm force northwesterlies in the wake
of the low will diminish to strong to gale force as it moves away.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over the South Labrador Sea will
move southeastward and cross Belle Isle Bank on Monday. This feature
will help maintain strong to gale force northwesterlies over eastern
waters.
A second trough will move over the Maritimes on Monday and bring
strong to gale force southeasterlies to southwestern waters late in
the day.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Gulf - Port au
Port, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Belle Isle Bank, Funk
Island Bank, and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
