northwest-southeast over Labrador Sea.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today trough located over eastern Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday trough located over eastern
Newfoundland.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today departing ridge located east of the Marine
District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:48 AM NDT 17 March 2026 A trough of low pressure over Belle Isle Bank will tracknortheastward today and depart the marine district this evening.
Strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of the trough will shift
to southwesterlies behind it.
A second trough of low pressure over Eastern Quebec will approach the
marine district today and cross Newfoundland overnight tonight.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies ahead of the trough will shift
to westerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Southwest Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle
Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
