Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:56 AM NST 10 December 2018 An intense low pressure system well northeast of Funk Island Bank
will continue to drift away today. Gale force northwesterlies over
eastern waters behind the low will diminish today.
A trough of low pressure extending over Northern Belle Isle Bank to
Southern Labrador will drift slowly southeastward through the
forecast period. Gale force northeasterly to northwesterly winds can
be expected over all waters as the trough passes.
Mariners over the Southern Grand Banks should monitor another low
pressure system that is forecast to rapidly intensify as it tracks
south of the Grand Banks tonight. Latest forecast guidance keeps the
associated gale to storm force winds just south of the Grand Banks
but that could change with even a slight shift northward in the
