Issued 3:00 AM NST 16 January 2025 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 977 mb located east
of the Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Labrador.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:50 AM NST 16 January 2025 A deepening low pressure system east of the Grand Banks will remain
nearly stationary today and tonight before gradually pulling away to
the east on Friday. Gale to storm force northeasterly to
northwesterly winds over eastern waters will slowly weaken on Friday
as the low departs and a ridge of high pressure builds in from the
west.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northern Grand Banks and Southeastern Grand Banks. A gale warning is
in effect for Funk Island Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half.
