Issued 3:30 PM NST 23 February 2018 Tonight and Saturday At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 942 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight quasi-stationary low 938 mb located
southeast of Greenland.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today high located over the Maritimes.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Saturday departing high located southeast of
the Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Quebec Lower North Shore.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:18 PM NST 23 February 2018 An intense low pressure system will become nearly stationary just off
the southeastern coast of Greenland this evening. Meanwhile, a strong
and slow moving area of high pressure over the Maritimes will pass
south of the Grand Banks on Saturday morning. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies over most waters between these features will
gradually weaken tonight as the high approaches.

A trough of low pressure approaching from the west in the wake of the
high will intensify as it crosses the Grand Banks on Saturday
evening. Gale force southwesterly winds will redevelop over the
Southern Grand Banks on Saturday afternoon as the system approaches,
then shift to gale force northwesterlies on Saturday evening in its

East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island
Bank, and the Grand Banks.
