Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:44 AM AST 12 February 2026 A low pressure system over eastern shore will continue to movenortheastward towards Newfoundland today and depart into the Labrador
Sea Friday morning. Strong to gale force east to southeast winds
ahead of the low shift to strong to gale force westerlies south of
it. Strong to gale force northwesterlies increase over northern areas
this afternoon.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian
Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait,
Northumberland Strait - eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen, and Anticosti.
Marine interest are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.
