Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:47 AM AST 19 December 2018 An intense low pressure system located over Southern Newfoundland
will drift slowly eastward this morning before turning northward and
departing northeast of Newfoundland tonight. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies in the wake of the low will diminish throughout the
forecast period as a ridge of high pressure approaches from the west.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Cabot Strait and Gulf-Magdalen. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining marine waters except for Fundy. Freezing spray warnings are
in effect for Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
