Issued 3:30 PM AST 22 January 2026 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. AST today trough located from Cape Breton Island to
Georges Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing trough located from Newfoundland
to East Scotian Slope.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Friday trough located northwest of the Marine
District.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:12 PM AST 22 January 2026 Strong to gale force southwesterly winds ahead of a trough of low
pressure tracking across the eastern marine district will shift to
strong to gale force westerlies in its wake tonight and Friday.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan and Cabot Strait -
northern half.

Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
