Labrador.
At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located on a line north-south over
New England.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Saturday departing ridge located on a line
north-south over Laurentian Fan.
At 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Great Lakes.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday trough located on a line north-south
over Maine.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:53 AM AST 26 February 2021 An intense low pressure system east of Newfoundland will graduallymove off to the northeast today and tonight. Gale force west to
northwest winds will diminish below gale force this morning over
southwestern waters but will persist until this evening over northern
and eastern waters. Winds will further diminish tonight as a ridge of
high pressure moves across the district.
On Saturday, strong southerlies will develop over the western half of
the district as a trough of low pressure approaches from the west.
The southerlies could approach gale force Saturday evening over
waters near the Gulf of Maine.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Northumberland Strait - western half, and
Chaleur-Miscou. Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy,
Grand Manan, Lurcher, southwestern shore, eastern shore, Sable,
Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait - eastern
half, Gulf-Magdalen, and Anticosti.
