Newfoundland.
At 3:30 p.m. AST Monday approaching trough located over the Gulf
of Maine.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:14 PM AST 18 January 2026 A developing low pressure system will approach the marine districtfrom the southwest tonight. The low will intensify as it tracks
northeastward to the south of Nova Scotia Monday morning to lie over
Newfoundland Monday afternoon. Winds will increase to strong to gale
force northeasterlies north of the low's track and gale to storm
force southwesterlies south of the low's track.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - southern half and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings
are in effect for Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, West
Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope - northern
half, Fourchu, Banquereau, and Cabot Strait.
