Snow beginning near midnight changing to rain Wednesday morning and ending near noon Wednesday. Periods of snow Wednesday evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation.

Temperatures minus 14 falling to minus 19 this morning then rising to plus 5 Wednesday morning. Temperatures falling to minus 3 Wednesday evening.

Issued 3:00 AM AST 18 February 2020 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located on a line north-south over
Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing ridge located on a line
north-south over Laurentian Fan.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight intensifying trough located near Cape Cod.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Wednesday intensifying trough located from
Anticosti Island to West Scotian Slope.

At 3:30 p.m. AST Wednesday trough located from Newfoundland to
East Scotian Slope.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Wednesday departing trough located southeast of
Laurentian Fan.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:51 AM AST 18 February 2020 A ridge will cross the district to lie over easternmost waters this
evening. Strong to possibly gale force northwesterlies ahead of the
ridge will diminish today.

Meanwhile a second trough will approach from the west to lie over New
England this evening. This trough will push east across the district
on Wednesday. Winds between the ridge and this trough will increase
to strong to gale force southerlies. Strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies will develop in the wake of the trough.

Marine interests are advised that storm force wind warnings are in
effect for Banquereau, Laurentian Fan and Cabot Strait - southern
half. Gale warnings are in effect for all other waters except Fundy
and Northumberland Strait - western half.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for eastern shore - eastern
half, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf -
Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti.
