Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:50 AM AST 5 March 2026 Strong to gale force northwest winds over northern waters willdiminish somewhat this morning as a ridge of high pressure builds
over the Maritimes.
A low pressure system will slowly approach southwestern waters on
Friday passing just south of Georges Bank by evening. Winds will
increase to strong to gale force easterlies ahead of the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, Cabot Strait - northern half, Gulf
- Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for eastern shore, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu, Banquereau,
Cabot Strait, Gulf - Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti.
