Issued 8:00 PM AST 12 December 2019 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing trough located on a lineeast-west over the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located on a line north-south over
New England.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Friday ridge located on a line north-south over
Nova Scotia.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Friday approaching low 1015 mb located near
Cape Hatteras.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:50 PM AST 12 December 2019 An east-west trough over the Northern Gulf of St. Lawrence will moveaway overnight ahead of a ridge approaching from New England. Between
these features strong to gale force northwesterlies persist across
the district and could possibly approach storm force over
northernmost waters and easternmost waters. Winds are expected to
diminish over most waters by tonight as the ridge of approaches from
the west.
On Friday moderate to strong southerlies will develop over western
waters late in the day as a low pressure system approaches from the
southwest.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf - Magdalen, Chaleur -
Miscou and Anticosti.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen,
Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
