Issued 10:00 AM AST 23 January 2021 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 986 mb located northeast ofNewfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 982 mb located near Anticosti Island.
At 10:00 a.m. AST today trough located on a line north-south
over Lurcher.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Sunday trough located from Fourchu to Laurentian
Fan.
At 10:00 a.m. AST today departing low 983 mb located over the
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:42 AM AST 23 January 2021 A series of lows and troughs will continue to circulate around theAtlantic waters for the forecast period.
Strong northerly winds over eastern waters will weaken today as an
intense low tracks over the Grand Banks and away from the region.
Meanwhile, a trough will sweep across the southern marine district
today and tomorrow, with strong to gale force northwesterly winds
developing in its wake.
Additionally, an intensifying low will approach the Gulf of St.
Lawrence from the northeast today, bringing strong winds causing
freezing spray to the region.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, and
Laurentian Fan - southwestern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, Northumberland Strait - western half,
Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou, and Anticosti.
