By 3:00 a.m. ADT Thursday trough located over Newfoundland.
At 10:00 a.m. ADT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over southern Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Thursday trough located over the Quebec Lower
North Shore.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:47 AM ADT 24 April 2024 A low pressure system south of East Scotian Slope will move to lieover Newfoundland overnight. Strong easterlies over southeastern
waters ahead of the low will veer to strong to gale force southerlies
later today as the trough moves northeastward.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over Southern Quebec will move to
lie over Anticosti Island overnight where it will deepen before
slowly moving off to the east on Thursday. Strong to gale force
westerlies or northwesterlies are forecast over northern waters with
this system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Laurentian Fan - eastern half, Cabot Strait - northern half, Gulf -
Magdalen, Chaleur - Miscou, and Anticosti.
