Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:12 PM AST 15 December 2017 A persistent large low pressure system over Northern Labrador will
maintain gale force west to southwesterlies over the northern half of
the marine district today. Another low will approach the district
rapidly from the southwest tonight and intensify as it crosses
Laurentian Fan Friday morning. Strong to gale force southeasterlies
will develop ahead of this system early Friday morning then shift to
gale to storm force westerlies behind it. Winds will diminish to
strong to gale force northwesterlies late on Friday as the low moves
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - eastern half, Banquereau - southeastern half and
Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, southwestern shore, Sable -
western half,eastern shore - western half, and Northumberland Strait.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait and all Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
