Rain with a risk of thunderstorms today changing to flurries early Tuesday morning. Fog patches dissipating this evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and in flurries.

A risk of freezing spray over northwestern sections Tuesday late in the day.

Temperatures plus 14 falling to minus 3 Tuesday evening.

Issued 10:00 AM AST 21 January 2019 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 985 mb located over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 988 mb located east of Anticosti

At 10:00 a.m. AST Tuesday low 1000 mb located east of Cabot Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:56 AM AST 21 January 2019 An intense low pressure system over Gulf Magdalen will track east of
Anticosti Island this evening. Gale to storm force southerlies over
eastern waters and strong to gale force northerlies north of the
track will shift to strong to gale force westerlies in its wake.

On Tuesday the remnants of the low will move from near Anticosti to
east of Cabot Strait by evening bringing strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies for most of the day.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan and Gulf Magdalen - western half.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Fundy,
Grand Manan, southwestern shore and LaHave Bank.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except West
Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope, Laurentian Fan, Northumberland
Strait - western half and Chaleur - Miscou.

Higher than normal water levels are expected for the Southern Bay of
Fundy from cape split west to Digby County near noon today. For the
Southern Bay of Chaleur and south to Miramichi, higher than normal
water levels are expected this afternoon. There may also be ice
rafting and pile up near the coast.
