over Maine.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Saturday departing ridge located on a line
north-south over Laurentian Fan.
At 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Great Lakes.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday trough located on a line north-south
over the Gulf of Maine.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:43 PM AST 26 February 2021 An intense low pressure system east of Labrador will gradually departtonight. Gale force west to northwest winds in the wake of the low
will diminish later this evening over northern and eastern waters.
Winds will further diminish tonight as a ridge of high pressure moves
across the district.
Late on Saturday, strong to gale force southerlies will develop over
the western half of the district as a trough of low pressure
approaches from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, and Gulf
- Magdalen. Freezing spray warnings are in effect for eastern shore,
Sable, Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait -
eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen, and Anticosti.
