Issued 10:00 AM AST 16 January 2019 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. AST today ridge located from Labrador to East
Scotian Slope.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today departing ridge located over the eastern
Marine District.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today trough located over the St. Lawrence River.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday departing trough located from
Newfoundland to Laurentian Fan.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:49 AM AST 16 January 2019 A ridge of high pressure over the region this morning will give way
to a trough of low pressure approaching from the west this afternoon.
Generally light to moderate winds under the ridge will strengthen to
strong to gale force southerlies ahead of the trough. Winds will veer
to strong to gale force westerlies in the wake of the trough on
Thursday.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, southwestern
shore, LaHave Bank, eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern
half, Fourchu, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait, Gulf - Magdalen
and Anticosti.
