Wind southeast 15 to 20 knots increasing to southeast 25 early this morning with gusts to 35 in the Approaches. Wind diminishing to southwest 20 this afternoon and to westerly 15 this evening. Wind increasing to northwest 20 overnight and to northwest 25 to 30 Thursday morning. Wind diminishing to northwest 20 Thursday evening.

Rain with a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon changing to scattered showers this evening and ending near midnight. Fog patches forming this morning and dissipating this evening.

Temperatures plus 10 rising to plus 15 this afternoon then falling to plus 8 Thursday morning.

Issued 3:00 AM ADT 14 October 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. ADT today ridge located over the southeastern Marine
District.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT today departing ridge located over the southern
Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. ADT today low 1005 mb located over southern Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Thursday departing low 989 mb located over
Newfoundland.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT Thursday approaching ridge located west of the
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:40 AM ADT 14 October 2026 A low pressure system will track across the marine district today and
tonight reaching Newfoundland by Thursday morning. Strong to gale
force south to southeast winds ahead of the low will shift to strong
to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope - eastern half, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait,
Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou - eastern half and Anticosti.
