Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:48 AM AST 21 January 2026 Strong to gale force westerly winds will continue today over northernand eastern waters between a quasi-stationary low over the Labrador
Sea and an approaching ridge to the west.
On Tuesday, strong to possibly gale force southwest winds are
expected ahead of a trough of low pressure.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - eastern
half and Anticosti.
Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, eastern shore - eastern half, Fourchu,
Banquereau - northern half, Cabot Strait and all Gulf of St. Lawrence
waters.
