Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:09 AM AST 8 December 2024 A low pressure system over Southern Quebec will intensify today andcross the Maritimes to lie over Newfoundland Monday morning. Gale to
storm force southerly winds will develop ahead of the low while
strong to gale force westerly winds are forecast in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - eastern half and Laurentian Fan - eastern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope,
East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau - western half, Laurentian
Fan - western half, Cabot Strait, Gulf - Magdalen - northeastern half
and Anticosti. Freezing spray warnings are in effect for
Northumberland Strait - western half, Chaleur - Miscou, and
Anticosti.
